The contract is also for the provision of a removal, storage and return services for 'Motor Vehicles' for which the owner has been issued with a notice in respect of Part 6 of the Traffic Management Act 2004, requesting them to move their vehicle but where this has not happened. This would be to allow planned maintenance work to the public highway to take place. Coventry covers an area of approximately 9,833 hectares (2011 Census) and is situated in the heart of England with easy road access to the M6, M69, M1, M40, A14, A46 and A45, together with rail links to London, Birmingham and Manchester West Coast main line. The purpose of this quotation exercise is to select a Contractor to perform such services. The service is intended to be cost neutral to the Council, with costs associated with the removal, storage and disposal charged to the vehicle owner, and/or proceeds from the scrapping of vehicles retained by the Contractor.
