The new gallery will tell the story of how our Army has been deployed around the world to protect the interests of our realm, from the East India Company's origins to the present day. It will become a permanent gallery entitled 'Global Role'. Whilst many elements of the existing gallery are to be utilised in the new gallery, there is a requirement for some new construction work, including re-building two walls, the removal of some light boxes and the manufacture and installation of new wall panels, alongside plinths for cases and making good of existing areas before painting. The Museum is purchasing four new display cases, manufactured by an external company, that the builder will need to interface with and provide framing/support work for.
