## Summary

The UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) has concluded the procurement process for the Electro-Magnetic Counter small Uncrewed Air System Defeat and/or Detect systems (EMDaD), awarding a multi-product, multi-supplier Framework Agreement. The contract is valued at up to £38.75M (ex-VAT) over a seven-year period, starting from 13 December 2024 and ending on 15 December 2031. This agreement encompasses suppliers such as Bornea (UK) Limited, BT PLC, Drone Evolution Ltd, and several others. The procurement falls under the "Electronic warfare systems and counter measures" category and involves delivery to multiple locations including British Overseas Territories, Channel Islands, and the United Kingdom. The procurement method employed was a restricted procedure above the threshold, indicating a selective tender process. The tender period ended on 27 September 2024.

This procurement presents significant growth opportunities for businesses specializing in electronic warfare systems and related technologies. Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in particular will find this framework advantageous as it is designed to accommodate multiple suppliers and products. Businesses with the capability to provide advanced technological solutions for detecting and defeating small uncrewed air systems are well-suited to compete for trials and product assessments under this framework. The MOD's commitment to rigorous testing and assessment ensures that only compliant products will be procured, thus maintaining high standards within the defence industry. This contract supports the development of niche market leaders and fosters competition, allowing innovative SMEs to showcase their technological advancements.
