## Summary

The Department of Health is seeking to improve transition assessments and support for young adult carers through a tender titled "Improving transition assessments and support for young adult carers to make positive transitions." This procurement falls under the category of business and management consultancy services, with a total value of £70,000. The contract period spans from 20th November 2018 to 31st March 2020, with the tender award taking place on 20th November 2018. This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in health and social care consultancy, particularly those with expertise in supporting young and adult carers. Companies with a national reputation, robust project management capabilities, and strong connections within health settings and local authorities would be particularly well-suited to compete. Additionally, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) are encouraged to participate, highlighting a commitment to fostering diverse suppliers in the delivery of critical health and social work services.

## Notice

This project will aim to improve the variation in practice around respite care / carers breaks across England, through sharing best practice, increasing availability of choice of quality services to enable carers to take the breaks they need and supporting carers to use personal budgets for breaks/respite. In doing so increase the transparency so carers know what they are entitled to, and ensure greater consistency in what is available. A choice of appropriate and good quality care needs to be available or carers cannot get the breaks they need for their own health and well being. Additional information: We are looking for a Contractor that can demonstrate that they have the following qualities: - Expertise and wide-ranging knowledge of the existing evidence base in this area - with particular expertise around young and adult carers. - Contacts and credibility with those in health settings and local authorities. - National reputation among carers, policymakers, the NHS and local authorities with regard to how best to identify, support and value carers of all ages. - Skills in assessing evidence and drawing out recommendations. - Project management and delivery capability including experience in monitoring and evaluating the impact of activities. - Analytical and drafting skills to assess the evidence and bring together a finalised product. - Ability to disseminate and promote the findings through appropriate networks
