## Summary

The Ministry of Defence is seeking to enhance innovation capabilities through the tender titled "DInfoCom/0096 - PROVISION OF INNOVATION ARCHITECT". This procurement falls under the category of computer support and consultancy services, with a contract value of £123,000. The procurement method employed is selective, specifically a call-off from a framework agreement, with the tender period having concluded on 22 November 2019. The awarded contract has been active since 6 December 2019 and will run until 31 December 2020, based in Andover, South East England.

This contract presents significant opportunities for businesses focusing on innovation, particularly those offering consultancy services in technology and digital transformation. Companies with a background in providing innovative solutions to defence and security sectors would be well-suited to bid. Given the emphasis on optimising military software licensing and enhancing industry-military collaboration, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) can leverage their agility in delivering cutting-edge services to fulfil this innovative mandate.

## Notice

The Defence and Army is embracing a culture of innovation to realise efficiencies, but more importantly force optimisation. The Defence and Security Accelerator, JFC led jHUB and Army Research, Innovation and Experimentation Laboratory provide a rich landscape to exploit innovation. Additionally, issues raised by the Service Enquiry into the deaths of Reserve Special Forces selection and strategic views of how Army conducts software licensing all require support to innovation activities. IM innovation requires an expedient delivery of capability into service with adoption of a learn fast approach to concepts. To ensure we continue to leverage business benefits from our innovation activities requires a broadening of the SQEP and KSE within the Directorate; the ability to better bridge the industry and military use of technologies, solutions and services. To resource the direction on innovation and experimentation requires additional service support.
