The event will be held on Wednesday 9th December 2015, 09.30-13.00 at the Hemingford Pavilion, Hemingford Grey, Cambs, PE28 9BX. The event is free, but places are limited, so if you wish to attend please complete the attached booking form and return to patrick.sheil@cambridgeshire.gov.uk as soon as possible in order to confirm your place. The Councils are taking the implementation of the Care Act 2014 as an opportunity to re-commission a new integrated advocacy service for their areas. It has recently been agreed that Cambridgeshire and Peterborough will work together to take forward a joint commissioning approach. The process will culminate in 2 separate contracts so that financial arrangements and budgets remain clearly defined within each area. However, we will take forward a single tender process and agree on joint monitoring processes. Both Cambridgeshire County Council and Peterborough City Council are fully committed to the principles and benefits of independent advocacy and want the new independent advocacy service to build on the success of current and previous services. Consultation processes and events have already been run separately across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough prior to the agreement to join up the commissioning process to gather views on what a new advocacy contract should look like.
