## Summary

The Peabody organisation based in London has awarded a contract for a Social Gardening Programme to review, create, and deliver gardening activities in Thamesmead. The procurement process was completed, and the contract value is £49,550. The contract period spans from November 18, 2022, to February 16, 2024. The programme falls under the classification of community and social services, offering opportunities for SMEs to engage in community-focused projects.

This tender presents a growth opportunity for businesses involved in community services and cultural event organisation. Suitable organisations must have a passion for community engagement and must be willing to collaborate with local residents to create positive social impact through gardening activities. The successful tenderer will lead resident engagement at Hawksmoor Growing Club and Edible/Atriums Gardens, aiming for long-term community management and involvement in Thamesmead.

## Notice

Peabody are looking for an organisation to review, create, promote and deliver a social gardening programme in Thamesmead within the two key spaces: Hawksmoor Growing Club & Edible/Atriums Gardens. We are looking for a passionate collective or organisation to lead the management and resident engagement of two key gardening spaces in Thamesmead. We want a hands on approach to the gardens alongside a strategic review of the spaces, relationships with local residents and the activity that takes place there, where local residents are actively engaged with and encouraged to see these spaces as their spaces. The winning provider will work collaboratively with existing residents and resident groups helping to share necessary skills and knowledge but will also be motivated to find new and interested people to be involved. The gardens should be places where local residents are actively engaged with and encouraged to see these spaces as their own spaces. The long-term ambition is that these spaces are managed by residents, who have been provided with the relevant training and means to do this well. This is an appointment that in time will be more about community engagement and organising than simply hands on gardening. Additional information: The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement.
