## Summary

Oldham Council, acting as the Contracting Authority, has initiated the North West Contractor Framework, designed to facilitate the procurement of construction and infrastructure works across public sector bodies in the North West of England. The framework, launched on 1st April 2022, is set to remain operational until 31st March 2026. With an estimated value of £1.8 billion, it comprises eight lots, including five for construction and three for infrastructure projects, and adopts an open procurement method. The tender period concluded on 29th July 2021, with established rates for contractors and guidelines for both Design and Build and Build Only projects under NEC and JCT contracts.

This framework presents significant growth opportunities for construction businesses, especially those specialising in public sector projects. Companies offering services related to new builds, refurbishments, and infrastructure development would be well-positioned to compete, particularly smaller and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that can demonstrate relevant experience. Potential clients include schools, NHS bodies, local authorities, and other public sector entities in the region, fostering collaboration and sustained business engagement within the local community.
