## Summary

The procurement process involves the Defra Network eTendering Portal, which is seeking a contractor for a project titled "Review of Worldwide Chemical Regulatory Regimes." This initiative aims to enhance understanding of global chemical regulatory frameworks to support post EU-Exit decision-making. The procurement falls under the research and development services category and is based in London, England. The tender was published on 10th August 2018, with a tender period that ended on 13th September 2018. The contract is valued at £37,305 and is set to commence on 29th October 2018, concluding on 1st March 2019. The procurement method used is an open procedure, indicating it was accessible to a broad range of suppliers.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in research and consultancy related to chemical regulation and environmental protection. Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) that can provide in-depth analysis and support in chemical regulatory assessments would be well-positioned to compete for this contract. The project’s focus on varying regulatory criteria and its implications for UK businesses enhances its relevance, making it an appealing opportunity for firms looking to expand their influence in the regulatory consultancy sector.

## Notice

The aim of the project is to increase Defra's understanding of worldwide regulatory regimes for chemicals used across markets, to inform decision making post EU-Exit. As the owner of UK government policy on chemical regulation, this study will be used by Defra to inform future UK policy on chemical regulation in areas where we have the scope to set our own policy, as well as to understand the impact of differing approaches to chemical regulation on likely future trade negotiations. The study should include high-level analysis of the different assessment criteria used under each chemical regime, how this can affect businesses in the UK, and an overview of the efficacy of different chemical regimes in protecting human health and the environment. Additional information: Please note that Defra procurement uses an E-tendering system for Procurement activities. This is currently provided by Bravo Solutions. To access appropriate tendering and contractual documents, please access the E-Tendering portal at https://defra.bravosolution.co.uk", ensuring that your registration includes "Defra". If you have any problems with this system, please contact Bravo on their telephone helpline number 0800 368 4850 or by emailing them at help@bravosolution.co.uk. "
