The resulting closure of the King's Dyke level crossing barrier causes significant delay to traffic. The project, to bypass the level crossing has been a priority for Cambridgeshire County Council (CCC) for a number of years. It has planning approval, the land is acquired and the detailed design phase has just been completed. On 15th August 2019, CCC's Economy & Environment Committee approved the procurement for a contractor to deliver this high profile project. CCC will host a market engagement event near Cambridge on the morning of 10th September 2019. At the event, representatives of the council will present the project and invite questions and feedback from attendees.
