## Summary

The procurement process is initiated by LGSS, representing Cambridgeshire County Council, for the project titled "A605 Kings Dyke Level Crossing Closure - Notice of Market Event." This project falls under the construction industry category and is located in the East of England. Currently in the planning stage, the market engagement event is scheduled for 10th September 2019, with the expectation of commencing the procurement process by the end of September 2019. The contract period is projected to start on 1st December 2020 and run until 1st November 2022.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses looking to engage in construction projects, particularly those specialising in roadworks and civil engineering. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary community sector enterprises (VCSEs) are encouraged to participate, particularly those with experience in urban infrastructure projects. Attendance at the market engagement event will allow firms to gain insights directly from the buying organisation and clarify any queries, paving the way for potential collaboration on this high-profile project.

## Notice

The A605 between Whittlesey and Peterborough carries over 14,000 vehicles per day and there are some 120 daily train movements across the level crossing that crosses the road. The resulting closure of the King's Dyke level crossing barrier causes significant delay to traffic. The project, to bypass the level crossing has been a priority for Cambridgeshire County Council (CCC) for a number of years. It has planning approval, the land is acquired and the detailed design phase has just been completed. On 15th August 2019, CCC's Economy & Environment Committee approved the procurement for a contractor to deliver this high profile project. CCC will host a market engagement event near Cambridge on the morning of 10th September 2019. At the event, representatives of the council will present the project and invite questions and feedback from attendees. Organisations that wish to attend the event are requested to confirm their interest in attending to Thomas.porter@Cambridgeshire.gov.uk by Thursday 5th September. CCC intend to proceed to procurement in accordance with the following indicative timescales: * Market engagement event - 10th September 2019 * Commence procurement - end of September 2019 * Contract award - Summer 2020 However, CCC make no guarantees that this PIN and market engagement will be followed with a Contract Notice or Tender. Additional information: This is a notice advertising a Provider Event in Cambridge on Tuesday 10th September 2019.
