## Summary

The Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science (Cefas), located in Lowestoft, is procuring a QuantStudio 5 Real-Time PCR System, classified under the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) equipment industry category. The procurement process is in the award stage with the contract awarded to Life Technologies Ltd. valued at £30,180.15. The tender utilised an open procurement method and is categorised as an open procedure below the threshold. The contract is set to commence on 20th September 2024 and will conclude on 20th September 2025. The project covers a range of geographical locations including the United Kingdom, British Overseas Territories, Channel Islands, and various international regions.

This tender provides significant growth opportunities for businesses specialising in laboratory equipment and environmentally sustainable technology. Companies capable of offering ultra-low power consumption devices, environmentally friendly packaging solutions, and maintenance services would find this tender particularly appealing. Small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that can deliver specialised equipment compatible with existing systems, ensure ease of maintenance, and provide comprehensive warranty support are likely to benefit from competing in similar future tenders. The expected services and the environmental considerations further highlight opportunities for innovative and eco-conscious companies.
