## Summary

The procurement process is currently in the planning stage and is being organized by Public Health England (PHE). They are seeking to procure a Molecular Enteric Syndromic platform for the extraction and detection of bacteria, viruses, and parasites from stool specimens. Key dates include an engagement end date set for 12th December 2018 and two Supplier Days scheduled for 7th and 8th January 2019 in Colindale, London. This project falls under the medical equipment industry category and supports the established ISO standards for laboratory services. The tender is classified under the Common Procurement Vocabulary (CPV) code 33100000.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in medical equipment and laboratory services. Companies that can offer automated systems for molecular screening, particularly those adhering to the relevant ISO standards, will be well-suited to compete. The contract may also involve ongoing service and support requirements throughout the equipment's lifespan, creating further business prospects for suppliers in this niche. Engaging with PHE’s procurement process could lead to valuable partnerships and long-term revenue streams for the participating vendors.

## Notice

As a part of a planned sourcing activity for the provision of an automated syndromic enteric molecular screening service for bacteria, viruses and parasites, Public Health England (PHE) is organising two Supplier Days on the 7th and 8th January 2019 in Colindale, London PHE is seeking to establish a high-throughput and cost-efficient syndromic enteric molecular screening platform across its National Infection service (NIS). We seek to procure systems for the automated extraction and detection of bacteria, viruses and parasites from stool specimens. Although this will be a capital purchase, it is intended that any service, support and supply of bespoke consumables (if applicable) will be covered for the lifetime of the equipment or until PHE re-tenders the requirement. Any equipment and services being offered must support International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 15189: 2012 and ISO 17025: 2005 under which PHE's lab services operate. The initial requirement is for installation in four PHE diagnostic laboratories. However, PHE has laboratories located throughout England and new requirements could be identified during the course of this contract.
