## Summary

The NHS Arden & Greater East Midlands Commissioning Support Unit (AGCSU) is initiating the procurement process for the "Provision of Special Allocation Scheme (SAS) Services in Essex." This contract, classified under medical practice services (CPV code 85121000), will be executed across the East of England, specifically in multiple locations within Essex, including Mid Essex and Southend. Currently in the planning stage, the market engagement event is scheduled for 6 PM on Thursday, 23rd March 2017, with an engagement deadline set for 23rd February 2018. It is anticipated that the formal tender will be published in early April 2017, and services are expected to commence by 1st October 2017.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses, particularly those specialising in healthcare services aimed at managing challenging patient behaviours. Providers that are well-equipped to deliver primary medical services, particularly in secure settings, would find themselves well-placed to compete in this contract. Additionally, as the tender will be open to the entire market, including incumbent providers, there is a chance for innovative service delivery models to be proposed. Engaging in this early market analysis and expressing interest in the forthcoming procurement could lead to valuable partnerships and service contracts designed to enhance patient care within the NHS framework.
