Moyle, a subsidiary of Mutual Energy Limited, owns and operates a 500MW HVDC electricity interconnector between the electricity networks of Northern Ireland and Scotland, which facilitates the trading of wholesale electricity between the Single Electricity Market in Ireland and Northern Ireland and the GB electricity market.Further details will be provided in the Pre-Qualification Questionnaire ("PQQ") and / or the Invitation to Tender ("ITT") documents. ### Lot Information Lot 1 The scope of the Auchencrosh Synchronous Condenser project as further detailed and specified in the procurement documents includes all works necessary for the design, detailed design, engineering, procurement, manufacture, transportation; installation, construction, testing, commissioning and provision of:(a) a synchronous condenser with an option for additional inertia to be provided by a flywheel;(b) a transformer for the grid connection at 275kV;(c) a synchronising circuit breaker between the transformer and synchronous condenser;(d) equipment connecting the synchronous condenser, connection transformer and synchronising circuit breaker;(e) all other ancillaries (such as auxiliary supplies, control and protection equipment, switchgear, cooling equipment, pony motor or equivalent, communications systems) required for the operation of the synchronous condenser for the design life;(f) all civil works required at the Auchencrosh site, including enabling civil works associated with an additional 275kV connection bay (the connection equipment will be supplied and installed by others);(g) all required construction permits excluding the Employer's permits as further detailed in the procurement documents;(h) all required system studies and dynamic models required by the grid operator(s);(i) performance and compliance testing to meet the requirements of the Grid Code;(j) spares (both strategic and operational);(k) an option at Moyle Interconnector Limited's discretion for operation and maintenance services post taking over for a period consistent with the warranty period and / or extendable up to a further 5 years.Further details will be provided in the Pre-Qualification Questionnaire (PQQ) and / or the Invitation to Tender (ITT) documents.Currency details will be provided in the ITT documents.Grid connection works (excluding civil works) will be carried out by others under a separate contract.Further details of the scope are provided in the PQQ and ITT documents. Options: The following fully detailed and priced options may be requested to be submitted:(1) Options for the short circuit capacity (MVA) of the synchronous condenser will be specified in the range between 200MVA and 600MVA details of which will be specified in the PQQ and / or the ITT; (2) Options for additional inertia (MJ) requirements which may be provided by a flywheel will be specified in the PQQ and / or the ITT; and(3) The provision and term of operating and / or maintenance services to be procured for a duration consistent with the warranty period and extendable for a further period up to 5 years will be each be optional at the sole discretion of Moyle Interconnector Limited.
