## Summary

The procurement process led by Highways England, titled "Free-Standing Incident Screens and Trailer," is currently in the planning stage. This initiative falls under the goods category, specifically focusing on trailers, semi-trailers, and mobile containers (CPV classification 34220000). The procurement programme is set to unfold over 22 months, commencing in January 2021 and expected to conclude by the end of October 2022. Interested suppliers are encouraged to express their interest by the future notice date of January 15, 2021, with proposals for lightweight, weather-resistant incident screens for use at incident locations or work zones.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses within the manufacturing and supply sectors, particularly for those specialising in mobile incident units, emergency response equipment, and trailers. Companies that can provide innovative solutions for the design and production of free-standing incident screens are well-suited to compete. By participating in this procurement process, businesses have the chance to engage with a vital service provider in the UK's strategic road network management, thereby enhancing their market presence and potentially securing long-term contracts with Highways England.

## Notice

Highways England is responsible for managing the strategic road network across England. It is our intention to replace the current incident screens and trailer system towards a product that utilises lightweight, weather resistance and cost-effective maintenance materials. It is intended that the procurement programme will take place over a period of 22 months from January 2021 to the end of October 2022.Incident screens may be used either at incident locations or in work zones to block drivers' view (from the live carriageway to the incident carriageway) of the incident or work activities that might cause distraction from driving. These will be referred to as "free-standing incident screens".
