## Summary

The procurement process titled "KMCAS-155 Designated Accommodation Beds" is facilitated by Kirklees Council, located in Huddersfield, UK. This tender is classified under the health and social work services sector, and falls under the services procurement category. The procurement method employed is a limited negotiated process due to extreme urgency, as per Directive regulations. The contract was signed on 20 January 2021, with an anticipated commencement date of 8 February 2021. It has a total estimated value of approximately £121,160 over a maximum contract period of two years, expiring on 31 March 2021, with the option for extensions.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for care home providers and businesses operating within the health and social care sector. Businesses capable of offering designated accommodation for patients transitioning from hospitals—specifically those who have tested positive for Covid-19—would be well-suited to compete. The requirement for swift action in identifying and providing suitable facilities during winter further enhances the growth potential for suppliers who can demonstrate compliance with health and safety regulations and infection control protocols.

## Notice

Local Authorities have been instructed by the DHSC to deliver a designation scheme, with the Care Quality Commission (CQC), of premises for people leaving hospital who have tested positive for Covid-19 and are transferring to a care home. This is to be set up in an effort to keep patients discharged from hospitals from spreading the virus more widely. Local Authorities and CCG's were instructed to identify sufficient designated accommodation to meet current and future demand over Winter in their local area and notify CQC of the details of these facilities as soon as possible and ideally by 16 October 2020.
