## Summary

The Home Office is initiating a public procurement process for "Radiation Protection Advisory Services," primarily aimed at ensuring compliance with the Ionising Radiation Regulations 2017 across all UK ports and airports, including Juxtaposed Ports in Europe. The planned procurement falls under the services category with an expected contract value of £3,500,000. This tender is currently in the planning stage, with a future notice date scheduled for 1st April 2021. The procurement strategy will involve a single supplier agreement, indicating that the selected contractor will be responsible for providing comprehensive radiation protection services and associated equipment, along with training and emergency support.

This procurement opportunity presents a significant avenue for growth for businesses specialised in radiation protection, environmental safety, and equipment calibration and maintenance services. Companies that manufacture or provide radiation measuring apparatus, dosimetry services, or manage radioactive waste disposal would find this tender particularly relevant. The collaboration with HMRC adds further relevance for firms with experience in law enforcement and security services as they can leverage their expertise in compliance and safety measures at national borders.
