## Summary

The NHS Golden Jubilee Hospital has completed a procurement process for the purchase of a Hip application for their existing Orthopaedic Surgical Robotic System, which was initially acquired in 2019. This procurement falls under the "Medical equipments, pharmaceuticals and personal care products" category and involves the procurement of goods. The method employed was a limited procedure, specifically an award without prior publication of a call for competition. The contract, valued at £150,000, was signed on 22 January 2021 and is currently active, with Stryker UK Limited selected as the sole supplier due to their unique capability to provide the required equipment for hip replacement alongside other orthopaedic applications.

This procurement presents a significant opportunity for suppliers in the medical technology and surgical equipment sectors, particularly those specialising in robotic assistance devices or similar technologies. Given the nature of the procurement method, businesses capable of offering similar innovative solutions to the NHS—especially those that can demonstrate unique manufacturing capabilities—would be well-suited to compete in future tenders within this space. Companies involved in the development of advanced surgical systems or those looking to partner with established suppliers like Stryker UK Limited may find valuable avenues for growth and collaboration.
