NORS is comprised of 16 organ retrieval centres in England, Wales and Scotland, who are responsible for mobilising a retrieval team travelling to donor hospitals in the UK to retrieve organs for transplantation. The NORS teams (13) use the fluids to preserve human organs (kidneys, liver, pancreas, heart and lungs) during retrieval, storage and transportation of the organ from the donor hospital to the transplant centre. The Tender is being carried out by NHSBT to establish framework agreement(s) against which the NORS Centres will call-off without any further competition. The procurement is split into lots as follows: Lot 1 - Supply of cold static perfusion fluid UW type solution Lot 2 - Supply of cold static fluid for lung perfusion (Perfadex type solution, or equivalent).
