## Summary

The London Borough of Brent is initiating a tender for Housing Related Support (HRS) Services aimed at various client groups including the homeless, those with mental health issues, and victims of domestic abuse. This procurement, classified under health and social work services, is in the planning stage with a total budget of up to £15,189,940 for a 5-year contract period, starting around 1st November 2021. Interested providers are invited to attend a provider engagement session on 11th February 2021, where they must register their interest by noon on the same day. The contract includes an initial three-year term with the option to extend for two additional years on a one-plus-one basis.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in social care and support services, particularly those with experience in supporting vulnerable populations such as young and older homeless individuals, people recovering from substance misuse, and others with complex needs. Companies that can evidence a successful track record with these client groups and demonstrate a capability to deliver high-quality outcomes will be well-positioned to compete. Engaging in this procurement process could help businesses to expand their service offerings and enhance their market presence in the field of social care.

Housing Related Support provides non-statutory time limited (2 years) low-level support to a range of vulnerable people including: people who are homeless (both young and older people), people who have mental health support needs, ex-offenders, women fleeing domestic abuse and people with substance misuse issues. The service can be delivered either in a person's own home (floating support) or in supported accommodation where the support is linked with the accommodation. Support consists of supporting people to pay their rent & utility bills, help find employment, training or education and support people to cook, shop and engage with the community. In essence, it provides the life skills to enable vulnerable people to live independently and maintain a tenancy. People in receipt of HRS do not usually qualify for Adult Social Care services and providers are generally not regulated with Care Quality Commission (CQC) as HRS does not provide any regulated activities Brent Council are committed to delivering high quality care and support services to vulnerable people. The providers we are looking for must therefore be able to demonstrate that they have a track record of working with this client group and can evidence that they are able to achieve the best possible outcomes for service users.
