## Summary

Essex County Council is conducting a public procurement process titled "Legacy Grazing," focusing on conservation grazing services across various sites in Essex, Suffolk, Kent, and Hertfordshire. This five-year contract, valued at £500,000, involves providing native breed livestock and associated management to ensure adequate grazing practices. The procurement has moved from the planning stage to the active tender stage, with submissions accepted until 27 February 2021. The process follows an open procurement method, allowing wider participation from interested parties.

This tender offers significant opportunities for businesses specialising in livestock management, agricultural services, or environmental conservation. Companies equipped to transport and manage livestock, engage in pasture management, or provide training and consultancy on animal welfare would be well-positioned to compete. With established operational standards and a strong focus on best practices, the successful contractor will gain valuable experience working collaboratively with Essex County Council, potentially leading to further engagements in similar contracts.

## Notice

Essex County Council undertook a full, open process for a single lead contractor to provide conservation grazing services, using their own livestock, to various sites in Essex, Suffolk, Kent and Hertfordshire. The requirement will involve the transportation of the livestock to all sites, as well as management of the service and ensuring that the grazing is to an acceptable level. The winning contractor will work with Essex's principle consultant in countryside management to ensure best practice is maintained throughout the five year contract; and the requirements are fulfilled.
