## Summary

The procurement process involves the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC), part of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), seeking proposals for the supply of a 100Hz Pulsed Laser Diode System. This procurement falls under the goods category in the lasers industry and is taking place in Oxfordshire, UK. The current procurement stage is active, with a tender period ending on 19 March 2021. The total contract value is set at £450,000, and the selection criteria will focus on quality (60%) and price (40). The procurement follows an open procedure, allowing a wide range of suppliers to participate.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and organisations specialising in laser technology and equipment manufacturing to expand their market reach. Businesses with expertise in providing complex laser systems, components such as power supplies, cooling systems, and control systems, as well as installation services, would be particularly well-suited to compete for this contract. Engaging with the procurement process and utilising platforms like the Delta eSourcing Portal can enhance visibility and potential partnership opportunities within the public sector.

## Notice

Proposals are sought by the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC, part of UK Research and Innovation, UKRI) for a pulsed laser diode laser system, in the following called the System, that will be used to pump an ytterbium:YAG laser amplifier generating pulses with energies in excess of 10 J at a repetition rate of 100 Hz. The Yb:YAG laser system is being developed by the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC). It will be installed and operated in a laser laboratory at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory.
