## Summary

The Nottinghamshire County Council is conducting a tender for the operation of electric bus services in the Mansfield and Ashfield areas of Nottinghamshire. The project involves the operation of two services: the Berry Hill Flyer and the 417 Sutton service, with an initial contract term of five years and an option to extend for an additional five years. The procurement method adopted is an open procedure, allowing for competitive bidding, with the deadline for bid submission set for 8 March 2021. This initiative is part of the council's strategy to introduce electric, low-floor buses funded by the Department for Transport, intended to be delivered by September 2021.

This tender presents a substantial opportunity for businesses specialising in public transport and green vehicle operations. Companies that can deliver electric buses and have experience in managing transportation services would be especially well-suited to compete. Moreover, businesses with capabilities in infrastructure development for electric vehicle charging will find this contract particularly relevant, as the council offers support for providing necessary charging facilities. With a budget of £800,000 for this contract, participation could lead to significant growth in the emerging electric transport market.
