The Epic product that has been procured to deliver the encompass Programme across HSCNI requires the purchase and configuration and embedding of a drug knowledge base which meets the following standards: * a NICE accredited clinical decision support module * a drug dictionary that is compliant with the NHS Dictionary of Medicines and Devices (dm+d) standard (SCCI0052) * includes GS1 barcodes to enable compliance with the Falsified Medicines Directive (Directive 2011/62/EU). (Note: Northern Ireland is still expected to comply with this Directive under the Northern Ireland Protocol following EU Exit). Key functionality required by encompass and delivered by the embedding of a drug knowledge base includes: o A drug dictionary that is compliant with the dm+d standard (SCCI0052). o NHS Indicative Pricing o EAN/GS1 Barcodes o British National Formulary Warnings (Mandatory Instructions) o Drug - drug interactions o Sensitivity checking o Duplicate therapy checking o Patient condition checking (Contraindications and Precautions) o Warnings o Dose range check (DRC)

### Procurement Information

First Data Bank (FDB) UK is the provider of Multilex. The FDB Multilex drug knowledge base embeds with existing Epic workflows to enable bar coded medicines administration, clinical decision support and inventory management.
