## Summary

The Department for Education has completed a tender process for the Somerset Community Learning contract, which falls under the education and training services category. This competitive procurement was initiated under the Public Contract Regulations 2015 and aimed to establish a contract for providing education and training services to adult learners in Somerset. The new contract will commence on 1 August 2021 and conclude on 31 July 2022, with a possible extension pending the outcomes of further assessments. Companies interested in this opportunity were invited to submit their bids by 16 April 2021.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in education and training services, particularly those focused on adult education and community engagement. Providers that can deliver flexible learning options, such as evening classes and bite-sized delivery, would be well-suited to compete for this contract. Moreover, organisations that are experienced in working with disadvantaged groups or those with low skills may find this opportunity particularly aligned with their missions, ultimately contributing to their growth and social impact in the Somerset area.
