## Summary

The APUC Limited is procuring taxi services across the Lothian area, specifically for Edinburgh City, East Lothian, Midlothian, and West Lothian under the title "Taxi Services - Edinburgh Region". This procurement process is currently at the Award stage, with contracts being awarded to active suppliers for an estimated total value of £1 million. The legal basis for this tender is outlined under the applicable EU regulations, and the procurement was executed through an open procedure, providing a competitive platform for potential bidders.

This tender presents significant opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) operating within the transport and logistics sector, particularly those with expertise in taxi and private hire services. Businesses that specialise in providing accessible transportation services for vulnerable groups, including individuals with mobility difficulties or special needs, would particularly benefit from this contract. With the emphasis on standing order services, ad-hoc requests, and specific transportation requirements for health-related logistics, companies capable of meeting these diverse needs are well-positioned to compete and expand their market presence.
