## Summary

The Wokingham Borough Council is planning a tender titled "Semi-independent Living accommodation for Care Leavers," aimed at providing accommodation support services for young individuals aged 16 to 21 who are transitioning from care. This initiative falls under the health and social work services category and has an estimated contract value of £650,000. The anticipated contract duration is two years, with the possibility of a one-year extension based on performance. Key dates include a Market Discovery workshop scheduled for 24th February 2021, and potential future notices expected by 15th March 2021. The primary services are to be delivered in Wokingham, UK.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialised in providing accommodation support services, particularly those with experience in working with vulnerable youth. Companies that have a strong track record in delivering high-quality, person-centred care and possess the capacity to offer round-the-clock support would be well-positioned to compete. The opportunity not only allows for direct service provision but also encourages collaboration with care leavers in developing life skills essential for independent living.

## Notice

We are looking for a provider/s to deliver an accommodation support service to our Care Leavers aged 16 - 21 years old. The provider will have a proven track record of working with care leavers and supporting them to achieve a positive outcome in their transition into independent living. The accommodation consists of 4 ensuite bedrooms and 3 bedsits (total 7 placements). There is also provision on site to provide emergency short term accommodation to our care leavers. Providers will be expected to work with Care Leavers that present a range of needs. It is anticipated that the contract will be for a 2-year period with the option to extend for a further 12 months subject to good performance. Within the scope of this service it is expected that the provider will: * Ensure that staff employed to deliver the service are appropriately trained, skilled and experienced and are committed to delivering a high quality, person centred service. * The provider will always deploy a sufficient number of staff to enable this service to operate at capacity and ensure that appropriate management support is available to staff and volunteers. * The Support Worker/s/Manager will be onsite and available to work with young people 24/7 * Have the capacity for staff to sleepover if WBC considers this necessary * Offer a proactive and supportive environment, which includes: support planning, risk management and key working at a minimum. * Support young people using the service in relation to, for example, planning and moving to alternative accommodation, future independent living, and employment and engaging in community life, and reporting and getting help with safeguarding concerns. ### Lot Information

Lot 1

In Wokingham our vision is that young people will leave care as resilient, self-sufficient, aspirational individuals, equipped with the skills to achieve long term successful independence. Currently there is difficulty finding suitable placements for our care leavers who require semi-independent accommodation. It is a struggle to find provision within the borough, that meets quality standards and that represents value for money. In order to breach this deficit, we are developing a new semi-independent living housing scheme within the borough of Wokingham which is due to open in the Summer of 2021. We are therefore seeking a provider to deliver 24/7 support at the service. There will be a Market Discovery workshop online on Wednesday 24th February from 10am - 11am. Organisations wishing to participate in this event should contact us no later than Monday 22nd February 2021
