## Summary

The procurement process pertains to a contract awarded by the Platform Equipment Delivery Team of the Ministry of Defence for submarine secondary propulsion systems and components, valued at £3,000,000. This contract is classified under the goods category, specifically in the industry of submarines, and involves a limited procurement method negotiated without publication of a contract notice. The contract extension was initiated on 23rd February 2021, following the expiry of the original contract on 23rd June 2017. The awarded contract, which is currently active, involves working with Babcock International Group, located in Bristol, UK.

This tender presents significant growth opportunities for businesses involved in the defence sector, particularly those specialising in maritime technology and propulsion systems. Companies capable of providing high-quality parts, maintenance, or innovative solutions for submarine systems may find this an ideal contract to compete for, especially if they can act as subcontractors to Babcock International Group. The limited nature of the tender allows for a focused competition, enabling suitable businesses to engage directly with established suppliers in this niche market.
