## Summary

Skills Development Scotland, on behalf of the Scottish Government, is conducting a public procurement process titled "Pathway Apprenticeships Phase 1A." This procurement falls under the education and training services category and aims to provide apprenticeship opportunities for unemployed or economically inactive young people aged 16-18 across Scotland. The procurement method is an open procedure, and key stages include the tender stage currently underway, with a significant volume of up to 7,605 places across various lots available for delivery. The contracting process is expected to deliver services over a period of 26 weeks, with a timeline for submissions leading to an eventual contract award.

This tender presents a valuable opportunity for training providers and educational institutions, especially those specialising in business skills, engineering, IT digital hardware, software, and social services for young people. Businesses that offer structured apprenticeship training and have experience working with disadvantaged youth may find it particularly advantageous to compete for these contracts. Engagement in this initiative can lead not only to contractual income but also to enhanced reputational benefits and contributions to local workforce development.
