## Summary

The Cardiff and Vale University Health Board, via the NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership Procurement department, has completed a tender process for the Maintenance, Testing, and Consumables of Decontamination Equipment. This procurement falls under the services category, specifically in calibration services, and was conducted using a limited procurement method without prior publication of a call for competition. The contract, valued at £250,000, was signed on 7 May 2021 and reflects the need for regular servicing of medical devices used in acute healthcare settings across the region. The initiative acknowledges the increased workload related to the Covid-19 pandemic and is aimed at ensuring compliance with ISO standards and the use of genuine manufacturers' parts for reliable equipment performance.

This procurement presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in medical equipment servicing, calibration services, or related technologies, particularly those that are ISO 9001:2015 certified and registered with the Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSIP). Companies that can supply genuine OEM parts and demonstrate experience in providing maintenance services to healthcare entities will be particularly well-suited to compete for such contracts. The ongoing demand for high-quality maintenance services within the NHS creates an environment for growth, especially for businesses positioned to support the health board's stringent regulatory requirements and operational needs.
