## Summary

The National Museums Scotland (NMS) is seeking tenders for the Hard Facilities Management Contract to provide services across its estate, which includes key locations such as the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh and the National Museum of Flight. This procurement falls under the services category and is currently in the planning stage, following its completion on 1st April 2022, with an expected contract duration of five years and the possibility of extension for a further two years. The expected contract value is approximately £10 million, with a tender submission deadline that was previously established for 9th June 2021. The procurement method utilised is selective, explicitly under a restricted procedure.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses, particularly those specialising in facilities management, building maintenance, and related services. Companies that can demonstrate experience and capability in managing large estates and maintaining heritage sites will be well-suited to compete. The successful contractor will not only provide routine maintenance but will also engage in major repair and improvement projects, potentially leading to increased workload and revenue generation through subsequent contracts and community benefit initiatives that encourage local employment and skills development.
