## Summary

The Covid LAMP Testing Services contract, valued at £1,080,000, was awarded to the University of York by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust on 22nd February 2021. This procurement falls under the health services category and took place within the Humber Coast and Vale Integrated Care System, specifically at the University of York campus. The procurement process was conducted via a limited method due to extreme urgency related to the COVID-19 pandemic, thereby bypassing prior publication of a call for competition. The procurement is now complete, having served to implement necessary SARS CoV 2 testing using loop-mediated isothermal amplification technology across the region.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in medical testing services, laboratory staffing, and those equipped for rapid diagnostic solutions. With the focus on high-volume testing in response to public health needs, companies that provide qualified medical laboratory assistants and relevant technological support will find themselves well-positioned to participate in similar future tenders. The emphasis on urgent testing services highlights a growing demand for healthcare-related infrastructure and services, particularly in light of ongoing public health requirements.
