## Summary

The Education and Training Foundation has completed the procurement process for the project titled "Practice Development Groups for teachers and trainers in the Further Education and Training Sector." This initiative focuses on enhancing educational services within the education and training industry in England, particularly aimed at improving teaching, learning, and assessment in maths and English. The process was initiated under an open procurement method and has awarded contracts to several organisations following active participation from 18 bidders. The contracts, worth a total of £157,173.60, were signed on 6th January 2021, with no current ongoing stages since the project has reached completion.

This tender presents opportunities for businesses involved in education and training services, especially those offering professional development, specialist training, or collaborative educational solutions. Providers that can facilitate practitioner-led initiatives or support improvement in teaching skills, particularly in maths and English, would be well-suited to respond to such tenders. The emphasis on collaborative projects highlights a need for organisations with experience in community-building and educational programme development to enhance and adapt their services to meet specific educational needs within the sector.

## Notice

Several contracts have been awarded to establish Practice Development Groups (PDGs) in nine regions across England. This new ETF programme was designed to promote practitioner-led, collaborative professional development across the Further Education and Training sector. PDGs consist of action learning sets of practitioners who work together on a short-term, small-scale project to improve an aspect of their teaching, learning and assessment over a four-month period. Each successful tenderer is running two rounds of PDG's per academic year (October- January and January - April). The appointed tenderers act as hubs for 8-10 groups (4-5 per round) with group facilitators supporting participants in running action learning sets.

### Lot Information

Lot 1

The Education and Training Foundation (ETF) awarded 7 contracts to successful tenderers to lead Professional Development Groups (PDGs). Improving the quality of teaching, learning and assessment in maths and English is a high priority for the Department for Education (DfE) and the ETF and the PDGs have been designed to complement ETF's wider maths and English offer. Participants of PDGs are able to seek to develop an aspect of teaching, learning and assessment to enhance their teaching of English or their embedding of maths or English into other programmes of study.
