## Summary

The University of Strathclyde is seeking suppliers for the "Supply, Delivery and Commissioning of a Cold Spray System," aimed at enhancing remanufacturing and additive manufacturing within the industrial machinery sector. The procurement process, which is currently in the Award stage, utilizes an open procedure and has a total contract value of £1,338,600. The contract was signed on 23 March 2021, and the delivery is directed to Glasgow, UK. This competitive tender attracted six bids, all of which were compliant with the stipulated requirements, including the construction of a resource-efficient enclosure to operate the equipment safely.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in industrial machinery, particularly those with experience in implementing advanced manufacturing technologies such as cold spray systems. Companies that can provide high-quality, flexible solutions designed for the manipulation of various metallic powders, and the construction of energy-efficient systems, would be well-positioned to compete. Given that all bids submitted were from SMEs, the project is particularly accessible for smaller enterprises looking to expand within the public procurement landscape.

## Notice

The Cold Spray System will be used for remanufacturing purposes and additive manufacturing, whereby a large variety of metallic powders will be used throughout the lifetime of the machine. The key interest is to have a system which allows flexibility (in terms of material and component design/complexity) to (re)manufacture those components in a large size range. The appointed supplier must be able to provide the Cold Spray System and an enclosure to ensure the equipment can be operated safely.
