## Summary

The Staffordshire County Council is currently at the award stage of the "Start Up Scheme for Staffordshire", a public procurement process aimed at providing business and management consultancy services. The scheme is set to run for two years starting from July 1, 2021, covering all areas of Staffordshire, excluding Stoke on Trent. The procurement method used is an open procedure, which has attracted various proposals, with a contract value of £240,000 for the delivery of services aimed at supporting new business ventures in priority sectors, including digital, agri-tech, and hospitality. Key outputs expected from the awarded provider include engaging 1,000 individuals impacted by Covid-19 and creating at least 200 new enterprises annually.

This procurement opportunity provides a significant avenue for growth, particularly for businesses offering consultancy and training services focused on supporting new entrepreneurs. Companies with expertise in start-up advisory, financial planning, or sector-specific training will be well-positioned to bid, as the initiative targets individuals who are looking to establish new businesses and require a comprehensive support ecosystem. The Start Up Scheme emphasises ongoing support, which could lead to fruitful partnerships and client relationships for successful bidders in this vibrant regional economy.
