The Northern Ireland Executive in its New Decade, New Approach deal made a commitment to create a plan to eliminate plastic pollution and to support the Green Growth Strategy. In addition, it is expected that Northern Ireland will transpose a limited number of Articles of the EU Single Use Plastic Directive from early 2022. Therefore, in preparation of this, Health and Social Care in Northern Ireland wish to investigate the market's capabilities to support the transition from Single Use Plastic for the below items: * Catering Disposables * Cutlery * Ready Meal Containers * Sealing Film To this end, an open invitation is being extended to all interested parties to declare their interest in participating in a product awareness session. Deadline for Declaration of Interest closes at 13.00 hrs Friday 16th April 2021. Additional information: Product Awareness Session is scheduled to take place via Video Conference 28th and/or 29th April 2021. It is likely the Trusts will only be able to facilitate two full days of supplier engagement sessions, therefore places will be limited and it may not be possible to accommodate all interested suppliers. Sessions will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
