The Council has carried out a market engagement to consider the potential solutions that are available in the market place, in order to provide better support for these young people in the future. The purpose of this notice is to notify potential bidders of the outcomes of the Market Engagement exercise. ### Lot Information Lot 1 The Council has a requirement to develop the provision of Enhanced Aftercare for Care Experienced Young People. It has been identified that a number of young people who wish to leave fostering or residential care are not able to live independently due to the lack of a targeted bespoke service which provides community based supportive accommodation with a high level of support and 24/7 out of hours response. PROPOSED MODEL Following the Market Engagement the Council has refined its requirements and is now considering the model below: The service will include 2 main elements:- 1. 24/7 Intensive Support The Council will commission a model of high level support with accommodation for 16 to 21 year olds. (individual self-contained rooms and communal areas and 24/7 staffed shared houses) with support staff available 24 hours, 7 days per week. 2. Emergency Accommodation The service will also have capacity to provide safe emergency accommodation and support that some young people will require as an emergency / short term alternative until they resolve the cause of crisis.
