## Summary

The Centre for Process Innovation Limited has completed a tender for the supply of a VLX electroporation system and consumables, primarily classified under miscellaneous evaluation or testing instruments. This procurement was conducted using a limited procedure without prior publication, and the contract has a total value of £600,000. The procurement is crucial for a project involving collaboration between Oxford University, MaxCyte, and Absolute Antibody, with a deadline for project completion set for March. The delivery location is within the UK, and the project's legal basis references EU legislation.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses involved in the supply of specialised scientific equipment and services, particularly those with expertise in electroporation technology. Companies with the capability to provide maintenance and repairs for such systems, especially those familiar with MaxCyte products, will be well-positioned to compete. The project's exclusive reliance on MaxCyte equipment suggests a limited pool of potential suppliers, allowing qualified bidders to enhance their business prospects and engage in high-value contracts within the scientific research and development sector.

### Procurement Information

We have received the GOL from UKRI stating that the Maxcyte VLX system must be used. Our role in this project is to optimise a process that has already been defined and tested between Oxford University, Maxcyte and Absolute Antibody. The Maxcyte equipment has to be used otherwise we would be changing the process, which we cannot do. The project needs to finish by March and if we use a piece of equipment that none of the partners are familiar with it will cause delays. Our account manager at Maxcyte has also confirmed that they're the sole provider of Maxcyte products in the UK, as well as providing a supporting document stating why only Maxcyte products should be used with the VLX system.
