## Summary

The Ministry of Defence, located in Bristol, has initiated the "Seafox Follow on Support Contract" for mine sweeping services as part of its Defence Equipment and Support Group. This procurement process is currently in the Award stage, with a total contract value of £36 million, which was signed on 15 April 2021. The contract is set to provide in-service support to the Seafox MDS system until March 2030 and includes options for three additional years. The selection method was a limited procedure, negotiated without prior publication of a contract notice, primarily due to the unique technical requirements and specifications that only one supplier can fulfil.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses involved in advanced defence technology and support services, particularly those with expertise in unmanned underwater vehicles and integrated complex systems. Given the specific needs highlighted by the Ministry of Defence, organisations with capabilities in safety and technical standards compliance, particularly those similar to Atlas Elektronik (AEUK), would be well-suited to compete in future procurement opportunities in this sector. The ongoing support contract is essential for maintaining operational effectiveness within the Royal Navy Fleet, paving the way for partnerships that can drive business growth within the defence industry.
