## Summary

The Welsh Government is seeking to contract for the "In Work Support – South East Wales" service, which focuses on health and social work services amid the COVID-19 pandemic. This urgent procurement falls within the services category, specifically addressing the occupational therapy needs of individuals in South East Wales facing musculoskeletal or mental health conditions. The procurement method is classified as limited, with an award procedure conducted without prior publication of a call for competition. The contract is set for an additional three months, with a value of £210,000, having been signed on 1 April 2021.

This tender presents a unique opportunity for businesses specialising in health and social work services, particularly those with experience in occupational therapy and employability support. Given the urgency associated with addressing the impacts of COVID-19 on the labour market, businesses capable of swiftly mobilising resources and delivering effective support in a challenging environment will find this opportunity particularly advantageous. Companies with a strong understanding of the needs of vulnerable populations in Wales will be well-positioned to compete in this tender process.

## Notice

In response to COVID-19, a suite of provisions under the COVID commitment to support those most likely to be negatively impacted in the Welsh labour market is required in order to mobilise employability and skills support in order to underpin employment recovery in Wales. This includes a proposal to provide occupational therapy support for people in South East Wales with musculoskeletal or mental health conditions to help remain in employment through the In Work Support Service. This is an urgent requirement due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, further exacerbated during the second wave. This contract is for an additional 3 months, which is a very short period of time. Owing to the urgency there is little time to tender. It would also take a considerable amount of time to install and initiate the provision.
