## Summary

The Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) is initiating a procurement process for the supply of Track Fastening and Support Assemblies, specifically rail pads, which is set to last up to eight years. The procurement is currently in the planning stage and aims to support the maintenance of the Glasgow Subway system. Interested suppliers should express their interest by emailing procurement@spt.co.uk. This notice is part of an engagement effort and is not a formal call for competition, with further notices expected on 12th July 2021. The contract value is estimated at £3,500,000 and services will primarily be delivered at locations within the UK, particularly at Broomloan Depot in Glasgow.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in railway equipment, particularly those providing rail fastening components and related goods. Companies with experience in public-sector contracts and an ability to meet the specifications outlined will be well-suited to compete. The framework will also allow other public bodies to benefit from the agreement, enhancing the growth potential for successful bidders in the transport sector across the UK.

## Notice

The Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) operated Glasgow Subway forms a circle in the centre-west of the city. Within a surface maintenance depot in Govan there is approximately 2.5km of ballast track. The system first opened to the public in 1896 and has since gone through various modernisation programmes, including at present. Maintenance of the Subway track and infrastructure assets is undertaken typically by SPT in-house resource. To support its on-going preventative and reactive maintenance activities, SPT has a long-term agreement in place for supply of rail fastening assembly components, with the exception of rail pads.
