### Procurement Information

Cold Storage Freezer Units were required urgently to store plasma as part of NHSBT's Convalescent Plasma COVID-19 response. Timing of the storage was critical & we were limited to the number of suppliers in the market that had suitable units available at short notice. Dawson Group were able to supply -40C units to Manufacturing sites (Filton, Colindale & Manchester) within an acceptable timeframe to accommodate the CVP storage requirements. There was no time to complete a formal competition for the lease contract of these units at this stage & given the specific technical requirements, it was agreed that no other supplier could be identified to provide units that were able to meet the temperature requirements for storage of CVP. Procured inline with Public Contracts Regulation 2015 regualtion 32 (2)(c) insofar as is strictly necessary where, for reasons of extreme urgency brought about by events unforeseeable by the contracting authority, the time limits for the open or restricted procedures or competitive procedures with negotiation cannot be complied with.
