## Summary

The Building Works Framework is an extensive construction initiative aimed at maintaining and enhancing the Metropolitan Police Service estate. Managed by the Mayor's Office for Policing & Crime, this framework covers various types of construction works under the CPV classification "Construction work", with a focus on internal refurbishments, mechanical and electrical installations, and new builds. The tender process, initiated in 2021, involves a multi-lot structure, the contract value running into hundreds of millions of pounds. Key works are to be delivered in and around London, with contract periods spanning multiple years. Recent updates from 2025 highlight ongoing contract adjustments to accommodate necessary expansions due to unforeseen circumstances, such as the impact of inflation and new environmental mandates aligned with the Net Zero 2030 pledges.

With an active procurement and award stage, this framework represents significant opportunities for businesses in the construction sector, ranging from SMEs to large enterprises. The diverse range of tasks and sizeable financial commitment provides a robust platform for business growth. Companies capable of delivering quality refurbishments, advanced engineering services, or responsive operational support stand to benefit. Given the project's scale and ongoing modifications, potential contractors should focus on sustainability and adaptability to meet evolving project demands. This initiative not only supports the infrastructure of the police estate but also aids the commitment to environmental targets, presenting long-term collaborative growth prospects for participating firms.
