## Summary

The Devon County Council is currently in the Tender stage of procuring Body Transfer services for the HM Coroner, officially titled "CP2023-20 Coroners Body Removal Contract". This procurement falls under the category of community, social, and personal services, with a total estimated value of £750,000. It encompasses several geographical Lots throughout the Devon County Council Coroner’s jurisdiction, with contracts expected to run from 1st September 2021 to 31st August 2026. The tender submission deadline is set for 28th June 2021. A tenderer event via Microsoft Teams has been scheduled for 10th June 2021 at 10 am to guide potential suppliers through the process and requirements.

This opportunity presents significant prospects for businesses specialising in body transfer and transportation services, particularly those capable of delivering prompt and sensitive responses in the event of sudden or suspicious deaths. Companies with experience in working alongside local authorities, emergency services, or mortuary services would be well-suited to compete for this contract. Engaging in this procurement process can help these businesses expand their service offerings and establish long-term partnerships within the public sector, particularly in the Devon region.

## Notice

The Council is looking to procure Body Transfer services on behalf of HM Coroner. In the unfortunate case of a violent, sudden, or suspicious death it is the responsibility of the Coroner to remove bodies from the scene to a selected mortuary or body storage facility in order to complete the necessary investigation.
