## Summary

The Ministry of Defence in the UK is currently conducting a procurement process for the purchase of CNC Milling Machines and Vertical Machining Centres, which are essential for supporting Aviation Workshops across various RAF sites. The tender is ongoing and aims to enhance the capability to manufacture bespoke parts for routine maintenance and modifications of aircraft. The procurement method employed is selective, featuring a competitive procedure with negotiation. The deadline for submitting responses is set for 5th July 2021, with an invitation for the second stage of the process scheduled for 19th July 2021. The contract term has a duration of three years, involving deliveries across multiple locations in the UK, including Bristol.

This tender presents substantial opportunities for businesses that specialise in the manufacturing and supply of advanced milling machines and related equipment. Companies that are well-suited to compete include those with expertise in CNC technology, machine operator training, and compliance with ISO:9001 standards. Suppliers capable of providing comprehensive support, including delivery and on-site training for the equipment, will have a competitive advantage. The inclusion of options for additional equipment, such as 4th Axis Rotary Units, further expands the market potential, appealing to businesses looking to establish or grow their presence in the defence manufacturing sector.
