## Summary

The West Yorkshire Combined Authority, located in Leeds, is conducting the New Business Start Up Programme to provide essential consultancy services for businesses starting up in the region. This initiative is classified under business and management consultancy and related services, with a total contract value of £2 million. The procurement process has reached the award stage, with the selected supplier, PeoplePlus Group Ltd, already active. The initial contract lasts for 18 months but has an option for a further extension, depending on performance. Key activities are expected to begin following the completion of a comprehensive support programme aimed primarily at new businesses with lower initial growth aspirations.

This contract presents an excellent opportunity for businesses specialising in consultancy, management training, coaching, and personal development services. Companies that focus on aiding small enterprises and have expertise in delivering tailored support to startups will find themselves well-positioned to engage in the competitive tendering process. Given the focus on businesses expecting to turnover less than £250k in their first year, SMEs and firms experienced in nurturing nascent enterprises could greatly benefit from this procurement activity.
