## Summary

The Tees Valley Combined Authority is seeking a sole provider for its "Tees Valley Cycling and Walking Monitoring" project, classified under traffic monitoring services. Located in Stockton-on-Tees, this procurement process is currently in the Award stage, following its tender launch earlier this year. The contract, valued at £200,000, aims to utilise monitoring equipment for collecting cycling and pedestrian flow data across key local corridors. The tender process was open, with submission deadlines previously established for early August 2021.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses focusing on traffic monitoring and infrastructure services, particularly those with the capacity to develop and deploy advanced monitoring equipment. Companies experienced in public sector contracts or those looking to expand into the traffic and transport monitoring field would find this tender particularly relevant. Additionally, the framework agreement indicates potential for future work with the five Tees Valley local authorities, further enhancing opportunities for sustainable business growth in this specialised sector.

## Notice

TVCA are seeking to procure a sole provider framework covering monitoring equipment capable of collecting cycling and pedestrian flows on our Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan (LCWIP) priority corridors. The framework will be accessed through call off agreements with TVCA and the five Tees Valley local authorities (Darlington Borough Council, Hartlepool Borough Council, Middlesbrough Council, Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council and Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council).

### Lot Information

Lot 1

The equipment should be capable of picking up cycling and pedestrian flows on footpaths, cycle paths and on road, 24 hours a day and 365 days of the year. Where appropriate, the equipment should also be capable of picking up vehicle usage and be able to distinguish between different vehicle types (including e-scooters, motorbikes, cars, vans, buses and HGVs). Funding is initially available to monitor four corridors, as the A689 Hartlepool town centre corridor already has monitoring equipment installed at the junctions with Victoria Road and Hucklehoven Way. This will shortly be followed by the necessity to install equipment and monitor a series of control corridors. The call-off agreement will also cover requirements for future corridors over the duration of the contract, as they are identified through the LCWIP process.
