## Summary

The Ministry of Defence in the UK has announced a planned procurement process for Method of Entry and Climbing Support Equipment, titled "701575625 - Method of Entry and Climbing Support Equipment." Classified under the goods category, this project involves the sourcing of approximately 425 items, including hand tools and specialist climbing equipment, aimed at supporting the Demolition, Disablement and Access Programme. The procurement process is currently in the planning stage, with a future notice date set for 2nd August 2021. The intention is to secure a Prime supplier for a 10-year contract for the Method of Entry equipment and a 5-year contract for climbing equipment, with delivery expected within the UK.

This tender presents significant business opportunities for suppliers capable of providing commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) equipment and related services. Companies that specialise in manufacturing or distributing tools and climbing gear, as well as those experienced in governmental contracts and compliance, would be well-positioned to compete for this procurement. By joining this initiative, businesses can establish long-term partnerships with the Ministry of Defence, which is also committed to considering social value in the contract award process.

## Notice

The Demolition, Disablement and Access (DDA) Programme within the Specialist EOD, Exploitation & Countermeasures (SEEC) Delivery Team (DT) have launched two projects to procure commercial off the shelf (COTS) method of entry (MoE) support equipment and specialist climbing equipment. The MoE equipment requirement consists of a large variety of hand tools, ancillaries and materials, roughly 125 items. The climbing equipment consists of variety of consumable climbing equipment and specialist access equipment, roughly 300 items. It is the intent to invite participation from suppliers who are commercially compliant and can meet the requirement of being able to support and supply all equipment types. It is the DT intention to find one Prime supplier to support the ongoing procurement of both equipment lists, with the procurement contract lasting 10 years for the MoE equipment and 5 years for the climbing equipment. For more information please refer to the advert and Dynamic Pre-Qualification Questionnaire (DPQQ) associated with this opportunity which will be released in the coming weeks. The existing Defence Contracts Online (DCO) platform is being phased out during 2021 and replaced with Defence Sourcing Portal (DSP). Therefore, the Authority will be conducting all applicable advertising and potential procurement exercises via the DSP. Interested parties are strongly encouraged to register on the new platform at contracts.mod.uk to ensure access to the most up to date information. DE&S is committed to considering Social Value in the award of any contract. More information about Social Value can be found here. In issuing this PIN, DE&S is not committing to carry out any procurement in relation to the requirements stated in this PIN.
