## Summary

The Energy Systems Catapult (ESC), a body governed by public law based in Birmingham, is initiating a pre-market engagement process for its project titled "ERIS SLES Marketplace Platform - Pre-Market Engagement RFI." This procurement falls under the IT services category, specifically focusing on consultancy, software development, and support, and is valued at £1,000,000. The procurement stage is currently in the planning phase, with a request for information set to close on 14th July 2021. Interested suppliers are encouraged to participate in a webinar on 15th July 2021 to gain further insight into the platform's objectives and design requirements, as well as to register their interest for the RFI.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses involved in IT services, particularly those specialising in smart local energy solutions. Companies capable of providing innovative, scalable, and flexible platforms that can support local authorities in achieving net-zero targets would be particularly well-suited to compete. The insights and feedback obtained through this RFI will inform a subsequent request for proposals (RFP), creating avenues for businesses to engage in the development of crucial energy systems tailored for local authorities across the UK.

## Notice

Context and Purpose of the Pre-Market Engagement RFI. UK Local Authorities (LAs) will play a key role in delivering the UK's Net Zero targets and accelerating the UK's transition to a net zero future. However not all LAs have the resources, time or know how to determine, design & deliver the solutions needed to achieve the changes required in their local areas. Working together with LAs, Energy Systems Catapult (ESC) has developed a prototype platform that brings together the key components of a SLES Marketplace platform that can guide LAs through the stages needed to deliver complex smart local energy projects. The purpose of this RFI is to receive and elicit feedback on the conceptual design of the SLES Marketplace platform to include but not limited to: * To understand if there is any existing solution that can deliver the scale, flexibility and openness that is required? * if an existing solution can be modified? * if it is recommended to build something new? In all cases ESC is seeking feedback regarding but not limited to: * indicative costs (a breakdown of the various elements will be very helpful)? * timescales from start to final commissioning of the Platform. * challenges associated with implementing the proposed solution. This information will be used by the ESC to develop more detailed requirements for the system which will be used in our subsequent RFP we plan to publish in the near future to supplier who have registered their interest and responded to the RFI.
