## Summary

The procurement process for the renovation and refurbishment of Queens Gardens in Hull is being conducted by Hull City Council, a regional authority based in the United Kingdom. The project, aimed at enhancing the public space as part of the Yorkshire Maritime City initiative, is currently at the award stage following a tender process, which has recently resulted in an unsuccessful outcome. The tender, classified under construction work, includes significant deadlines tied to the execution of masterplan objectives focused on improving accessibility and structural integrity, with a cancelled award date recorded on 9th July 2021.

This tender presents notable opportunities for businesses within the construction and public arts sectors, particularly those specialising in urban redevelopment, landscaping, and ecological enhancements. Companies that can demonstrate quality craftmanship, alongside innovative approaches to public space design, will be well-positioned to compete in future tenders related to this project. The involvement of bespoke art installations also suggests that creative firms may find valuable engagement prospects, potentially leading to lucrative collaborations in enhancing the heritage and functionality of the gardens.

## Notice

The refurbishment of Queens Gardens is a scheme related to the Hull: Yorkshire Maritime City project. The delivery of its masterplan will improve accessibility and visitor flows, deliver structural repairs through rebuilding the retaining walls, introduce bespoke pieces of public art, improve biodiversity and regenerate a much loved open space. The project will make the gardens fit for purpose, futureproofing the space and its ability to host large-scale events. The history of the gardens will be better told, reconnecting it with the origins of the space as a former dock.
